In your opinion, what are the strong neodymium magnets? customers always research for strong magnet, this sounds like an property that any magnet should have-who would like some magnet called a "weak magnet". AlNiCo magnets are strong enough and used in many industrial areas, while ceramic magnets provide low cost in addition to their strength.
Are they strong magnets?
What seems an obvious description is actually another way to describe a special kind of magnet. When you hear about strong magnet, it means the strongest magnet in the world.
Rare earth magnets are made from alloys of neodymium, iron and Barium, are absolutely stronger than the ceramic magnets or AiNiCo magnets, they can made in many different shapes: block, ring, disc, cylinder etc.
Why doesn't everybody use neodymium magnets?
there are two reasons:
(1) neodymium magnets require extremely high magnetizing fields, and the surface is easy to be oxidated, a protective coating is necessary for certain applications.
(2) they should work in a specific temperature, if the environment temperature is higher than their working temperature, the magnetism will fade or even worse they will lose magnetism totally.
So if you want to choose one kind of magnet, you should consider about the real application, not just consider about which one is the strongest magnet. just look at the following pictures, you can see there are several magnets:
